Defenition
of Classes:
(The
word Dogs applies to both sexes)
A dog entered in more than one class is forbidden. All dogs
must be entered in the relevant classes, i.e.:
Champion
Class
Open to any dog with the title of Champion from any country
recognised by the Gibraltar Kennel Club and the F.C.I. A copy
of the recognised Champion title shall be enclosed with the
entry form. Dogs in this class cannot obtain the GCC. If the
certificate is missing, the dog will be automatically entered
in the Open Class.
Open
Class
For dogs of 15 calendar months or more on the day of the show.
Dogs entered in this class may not be entered in Champion
Class. The winner of this class will compete with the winner
of the Champion Class for the CACIB. Champion dogs from other
countries wishing to become a Gibraltar Champion must be entered
in this class.
Working
Class
For dogs of 15 calendar months or more on the day of the show.
A copy of the recognised Working certificate shall be enclosed
with the entry form. If the certificate is missing, the dog
will be automatically entered in the Open Class. The winner
of this class will compete with the winners of the Open and
Intermediate Classes for the GCC.
Intermediate
Class
For dogs of 15 and not exceeding 24 calendar months on the
day of the show. Dogs entered in this class will compete with
the winners of the Working and Open Classes for the GCC.
The
winner of the GCC (either Open, Working or Intermediate Class)
will compete with the winner of the Champion Class for the
CACIB.
Junior
Class
For dogs of 9 and not exceeding 18 calendar months on the
day of the show. Dogs entered in this class cannot obtain
the GCC &/or CACIB. The Excellent 1st in this class will
compete with the CACIB winner for the Best of Breed (BOB).
Puppy
Class
For dogs of 5 and not exceeding 9 calendar months on the day
of the show. Dogs entered in this class cannot obtain an Excellent,
GCC &/or CACIB. A very good and Best of Breed (BOB) is
the maximum granted.
Brace
For a Dog & Bitch of the same breed belonging to the same
owner and handled by one person. Each dog having entered in
one of the above classes.
Progeny
For three or more dogs of the same breed and characteristics
or variety and bred by the same breeder. It is not necessary
that they belong to the same person on the day of the show.
In order to compete in this class all dogs must be entered
in one of the above classes.
Veteran
For dogs of 7 years and over on the day of the show. Dogs
entered in this class will compete with the Working, Intermediate,
Open and Champion class winners for the Best of Breed. Dogs
entered in this class will NOT qualify for the GCC and CACIB.
